Crosswinds is a professional chamber music
ensemble based in the Annapolis area, featuring the talents of flutist,
Gail D. Vehslage; clarinetist, Phyllis Crossen-Richardson; bassoonist,
Kari Krueger Shea; and pianist, Sayuri Itoya Johnson.
Crosswinds has performed in a variety of settings, including The University of Maryland, Tawes Gardens, Ginger Cove, the St. Martin's Lutheran Church and the 2004 International Clarinet Association Conference. They have given performances to benefit organizations such as the September 11th Disaster Relief Fund, World Inc. and the Lighthouse Homeless Shelter. In 2002, they received a generous grant from the Rotary Club. This unique instrumental combination provides Crosswinds with a wealth of musical colors and options from duos to quartets. Crosswinds diverse repertoire, from classical to contemporary, Bach to Joplin, is appropriate for all occasions.
