Mariko
Maki, Flute
Mariko Maki received her degrees in Flute from the
Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (M.M) where she studied
with Dr. Bradley Garner and from the Eastman School of Music (B.M.)
where her teachers included Bonita Boyd and Richard Sherman. She
has also studied privately with Emily Skala and Jill Felber. In
addition, Mariko has performed in master classes with James Galway
and Julius Baker. She was a winner of the 1993 NFA Master class
Performers Competition, the 2001 Baltimore Music Club Competition,
and most recently is the recipient of a grant from the Maryland
State Arts Council. She is also an active performer for the Baltimore
Composers' Forum. Currently, she is on the faculty of the Peabody
Preparatory and the Maryland Conservatory of Music.
